Salkind-Pearl in SICPP spotlight: Autumn Voices

Check out our Flickr photostream to see new footage of the Callithumpian-commissioned work for this past Sick Puppy festival, featuring composer Mischa Salkind-PearlSalkind-Pearl‘s Autumn Voices, scored for flute, clarinet, string quartet, percussion, and piano, was performed in a masterclass setting with the Callithumpian Consort performing onstage, followed by a discussion led by our composer-in-residence, Chaya Czernowin.   View the complete set here.

Interested in the composer?  Mischa Salkind-Pearl received degrees from Skidmore College, UMBC, and Boston Conservatory, the last of which he recently completed his Master’s degree in composition studying with Marti Epstein and Dalit WarshawSalkind-Pearl has also attended masterclasses by Joan Tower, Peter Schickele, Martin Bresnick, Jo Kondo, Simon Bainbridge, and Jonathan Harvey.

Performers of Salkind-Pearl‘s music include Ludovico, RUCKUS, pianist Miki Arimura, conductors Yohei Sato and Jason Love, Devil May Care Duo (DMC Duo), and of course, Callithumpian Consort.
